The Michigan Veteran's Foundation is a non-profit agency that provides essential services to Michigan's veterans. Their main project is the Detroit Veteran's Center, which is a transitional housing facility and resource center.
This organization provides a variety of services to homeless veterans including:
- Transitional Housing/Housing Placement
- Veterans Rescue Program
- Food Pantry
- Life Skills Training
- Employment Training
- Counseling and Substance Abuse Intervention
- Legal Assistance
The 6th and 7th grade DI team has chosen this group for our "Inside Impact" project. We are holding a fundraising Talent Show event on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at 6:00 to benefit this organization. Presale tickets will be available for $5/Family until Friday, January 12th. Admission will also be available at the event.
We are also collecting much-needed items for the veterans:
- Warm Skull Caps
- Sweat Socks
- Towels / Washcloths
- Large Flip Flops (Shower Shoes)
- Large and XL Boxers and T-Shirts
We have boxes located next to the school office and also in the 300 wing of the school. Collection will continue until the talent show. Please help us support this worthy cause!
