St. Matthew Lutheran School of Walled Lake, MI is proud to present Disney's "The Little Mermaid, JR." on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 at 7:00 pm. The production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International.
Director Mr. Matthew Topel and Musical Director Mr. Thomas Czinder have been working with the middle school children for several months in preparation for this spectacular event. In addition, teams of parents, staff, alumni, and children have clocked countless hours preparing the choreography, set, props, costumes, makeup, hair, and all the other details of the show. The hardworking volunteers are now putting the final touches on what will be a wonderful production during the Spring Fine Arts Show at St. Matthew, that includes the all-school Art Show, the Book Fair, and concessions with fun prizes.
Come to St. Matthew at 7:00 pm on May 5th and 6th to journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.
In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.
Tickets for this family-fun evening are available by calling the school office at 248-624-7677 or emailing schooloffice@st-matthew.org. Prices are $4 for children 13 and under and $6 for adults. Limited tickets will be available at the door, so please call for advanced tickets, if possible. Concessions (with fun prizes) will be available, the Art Show is included in the ticket price, and the Book Fair will be open before and after the production.
