One of the most significant blessings of St. Matthew Lutheran School is your child's ability to grow in his/her relationship with the Lord Jesus. At St. Matthew, we believe that worship is a significant part of this process. Each day, our students have classroom opportunities to worship God; in addition, every week, our students also participate in corporate Chapel worship. We prioritize our Chapel worship experiences because this is a tremendous opportunity for the Holy Spirit to work powerfully among our students. During this time, children have the opportunity to worship our Heavenly Father through songs, prayer, Scripture readings, and a developmentally engaging message.
One unique opportunity that also occurs during Chapel services at St. Matthew Lutheran School is the incorporation of “Faith Families”. A Faith Family is an intergenerational group of fourteen to sixteen students, ranging in age from four to fourteen years old. Each Family has one teacher and 8th grade student who leads the family. Faith Families sit together each week in Chapel as the whole school worships God. In addition, Faith Families meet together once a month to learn Christian attributes and characteristics in fun ways, utilizing our “Friendzy” curriculum. These lessons are structured to include opportunities for faith development, as well as fellowship so that each Family grows relationally and spiritually. We also strive to cultivate the leadership and competency skills of our 8th grade students by providing them with numerous opportunities to lead Faith Family lessons.
