During Lent and Always... Give Satan the Boot!

"Give all your worries and cares to God because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

Did you hear about the teacher who was helping one of her Kindergarten students put on his boots?

He asked for help and she could see why. Even with her pulling and pushing, the little boots still did not want to go on. Finally, when the second boot was on, she noticed that she had worked up a sweat. She almost cried when the little boy said, "Teacher, they're on the wrong feet!"

She looked and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. However, she managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, and this time... on the right feet! Then he announced, "These aren't my boots!"

She bit her tongue and refrained from asking, "Why didn't you say so?" And once again, she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet. No sooner had they taken the boots off, he announced "They are my brother's old boots. My mom made me wear them."

Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry, but she mustered up all the grace and courage that she had left and wrestled the boots back on his feet again.

Helping him into his coat, she asked, "Now where are your mittens?" He sweetly replied, "I stuffed them in the toes of my boots!"

Have you ever experienced one of these days?

Perhaps there have been times when you just felt like no matter what you did, you just couldn't win? If you ever have felt this way before, I have wonderful news you for you... God's bigger than any circumstance than you are going through!

1 Peter 5:7 states "Give all of your worries and cares to God because He cares for you." Whatever you may be going through, God doesn't want you to handle by yourself... in fact, He wants you to surrender it, give it to Him, and trust that He will handle it.

Jesus knew we needed a Savior, and that is why He went to the cross. As we begin the church season of Lent this week, may you find time each day to focus on Jesus' journey to the cross and realize just how much He loves you and wants to be the one that you always turn to for help.

In His Love,
Mrs. Palka
