Happy Mother's Day!

The other day, a friend sent me a collection of lessons that moms have learned from their children during quarantine:

"If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42-pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a superman cape."

"You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using the ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way. The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan."

"Play-dough and microwaves should never be used in the same sentence."

"When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh", it's already too late."

The role of a mom can be very exciting as well as rewarding, and yet so unpredictable, especially during a period of quarantine! Praise God for the moms who are cheerleaders and the encouragers. Praise God for the moms who are the family Uber-drivers, and when restrictions end and normalcy returns, they will be able to memorize the daily schedule in a blink of an eye. Praise God for the moms who spend late nights talking to their children and help them process emotions as well as put things into proper perspective. Praise God for the moms who endure sleepless nights tending to a sick child, or who help wipe away tears of frustration and hurt. And Praise God for the moms who are now serving as tutors, IT troubleshooters, Activity Directors, and 24/7 gourmet chefs while their children learn remotely from home.

Most importantly, Praise God for moms who in difficult situations and/or challenges, point their children to Jesus for guidance and direction. And if you are a mom reading this, we praise God for YOU!

Happy Mother's Day!

In Jesus' Love,

Mrs. Palka
