Lutherfest 500 Is Almost Here!

"Whatever you do for the least of these, you do unto Me!" Matthew 25:40

You've heard of the Indy 500, and the Daytona 500, but are you ready for Lutherfest 500??

This Friday, St. Matthew Lutheran School will wave the checkered flags for the start of Lutherfest 500, a special anniversary celebration commemorating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.  In 1517, Martin Luther led the Reformation in Germany.  The Reformation was based on the Biblical truths of Jesus and the gift of forgiveness that comes freely through grace by faith in Him.

As a result, we have designed a special German Oktoberfest Progressive dinner, featuring popular German delicacies that our students have helped prepare.  Yesterday, the delicious aroma of our Preschool/Kindergarten apple strudel filled the halls as they began their preparations, and this was just a teaser for what is yet to come!

Those who are attending are asked to enter through the main church entrance and obtain your Lutherfest credentials in church lobby.  Your credentials will guide you to "progress" through the building and sample each grade's German creations. The meal will be served from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.  Beginning at 6:00 p.m., families will be able to swing their partners and do-si-do in the gym to some fun German square dance tunes.

Please remember that all ticket proceeds will support Lutheran World Disaster Relief and helping those who have been affected by the recent hurricanes.

The Reformation was built on Jesus, and we look forward to a joy-filled night celebrating life in Him!

In His love,
Mrs. Palka
